I recently had a frustrating experience with Dr. Koche’s office. About two months prior to my appointment with Dr. Koche, I received a call requesting prepayment. Because I was overseas on vacation, I told the staff that I would handle the payment when I am back in the U.S. However, when I called about a month before the appointment to pay, I was shocked to find out my appointment had been canceled without notice due to non-payment. Furthermore, I was told that if I still wanted to see Dr. Koche, the next available slot wouldn't be for another six months!
I understand the need for payment assurance, but I believe Dr. Koche’s practice of not communicating cancellations is too aggressive and shows a disappointing lack of respect for patients’ time — I had blocked off the date on my calendar, fully intending to attend and pay. Potential patients should be aware that the policies at this office are incredibly stringent.
