I got say Olivia did a very good job on my daughter’s hair. That red is vibrant and beautiful. I know I had to rush her but when we got home blow dried it and straighten it out. It’s gorgeous. So thank you for stepping in for her original hair stylist. Thank you so much.

GREAT Spa.. over two days, I had several services from massage to facial etc.. and I can honestly say ALL of my technicians were better than good at what they do. If I had a complaint, it would be too much talking to the customer. Not a biggie, but I feel I missed some of the relaxation w/holding convo's

We recently visited Pura Vida for a girl's weekend spa day. The ambiance is definitely more of a salon feel (vs. spa feel), but there are locker rooms and robes. The actual services and providers were 5-star! Aaron gave an incredible 90-minute massage (one of the best I've ever had), and Sheila gave me a stellar facial and was so enjoyable to be around (perfect balance of communication and relaxation). So if you're looking for great services at great prices, this will be a win. But just level-set expectations regarding amenities since it's not your typical day spa (especially if you're from a bigger city).

One of the best drop in first time client deep tissue massages I’ve ever had. Just incredible. Aaron did a fantastic job finding my stiff and sore areas and needed very little guidance for just the right pressure. Aaron was clearly a massage pro who cares deeply about the quality of his work and helping people. Very relaxing, effective, and healing massage.

I booked an Elite Facial with Debbie. The start of the facial was great. Debbie explained the whole process and what she was going to do. I was not aware of a chemical peel being a part of this facial until Debbie stated so. I cautioned her that this would be my first one and that I was getting ready to go on a ski trip vacation the following week, was going to be in the sun a lot, and asked her if a chemical peel was a good idea or not before that. Debbie stated it was no big deal and that I would be fine as long as I moisturized and used sunscreen a lot. I chose to trust her and her years of experience and said okay and went through with it. During the facial she offered an upsell for a Dermabrasion. I asked her how much and she said, “Oh idk maybe $45 or $50 I think.” I said okay and decided to add it on. Following the chemical peel process and the entire facial, I regretted the decision of going through with this process. Upon checking out, the Dermabrasion upsell was actually $75 and that was upsetting. Felt like a money grab of a first time facial session at this place. The next day my face was burned and looked terrible. I called the salon and Debbie said it was normal and to “trust the process” and did give me her personal number for support in the days to come because of my concern about my burned and peeling face with my upcoming vacation. She just continued to advise a lot of moisturizer and sunscreen. I moisturized and used sunscreen profusely and did my best to stay out of the sun on my ski trip, but that was far from easy and did take ease and enjoyment away from the trip. My skin now looks okay but the areas around the corners of my mouth were negatively effected by this process. I will not be going back to Pura Vida because of this experience I had.
I believe a trained professional with years of experience should not recommend her client to get a chemical peel before going on a high sun exposure vacation, and I believe the professional should know the pricing of the upsell and not downplay it to her client lying on the table.
Update 5 months later: after speaking with and receiving services from other businesses and estheticians in the waco area, rating change from 3 stars to 1.

I have been here several times for a massage with Ann and the experience has always been a 10! Last time I was in excruciating pain and had to stop the massage. Ann was so sweet and said let me do one thing before you leave to see if it helps. (The problem was from my shoulder/arm) she gently stretched it and worked it over so carefully for me and after 2 months in pain, I walked out pain free. It’s been 3 months since then. Still great! She’s the best! Kind thoughtful personality. Best in town
