Dr. Maharaj-Mikiel is amazing! Her office is closing and will be greatly missed! I’ve been seeing her for almost a year. She is great at figuring out what’s really going on and what is needed to address it. I’ve been to too many doctors who didn’t understand what was going on and weren’t educated. I never had this problem she’s always knowledgeable.

I LOVE the food product that she has in her office. They have become a part of my daily intake to better my health and lose weight. The Receptionist is TRASH. Dr. Mikiel needs to send her about her way. She lied for 3 weeks straight. I have to do her job for her SMH. Insurance does NOT take 3 weeks to verify if a provider in network. It is literally ONE phone call, and a couple of seconds. It has vexed me to know that I will have to DEAL with this lady just to be seen by my Dr.

Update: Dr. Mikiel and her staff are AMAZING. A FAMILY Dr for sure. Staff has since then been replaced with caring human beings that have respect for people and their job/ duties as a receptionist and nurses. Will be a patient here for as long as it permit

Honestly when I first moved here and she became my primary I was a complete mess. She is an excellent doctor and her staff such as Brandy and the lady at the front make for a calming great experience. Now after being under her care for awhile now, I am an almost completely different person. I would very highly recommend her and her staff to anyone.

Today was supposed to be my new patient visit. I was told on the phone there was a lot of paperwork at check in so it was best to arrive 30 minutes early, but before my appointment I was sent a text which read: You have an appt at Mikiel Medical Mall, Pllc on Mon 8/07 at 10:45AM. Click the link to confirm your appt and begin your pre-visit checkin.
I used the link from the text 3 days before my appointment to complete 3 sets of paperwork which requested a very thorough medical history, depression forms and questionnaires and required pictures of my drivers license and medical insurance card. Upon completion it said I had completed checkin for my 10:45 appointment.
Today I arrived for my appointment about 12 minutes early and the receptionist was on the phone. I waited about 3-5 min for her to finish the call and check me in. She asked who I was and another receptionist or medical assistant walked up as well and asked if I was a new patient. I said yes and she said well you are late we’ve already cancelled your appointment.
I tried to explain that I had already checked in via their online service and had already completed about 30 minutes of paperwork but she said that was just an appointment confirmation. I again tried to clarify it was far more than a confirmation and to explain all I had already done and said I could complete any other paperwork they may need but she said it didn’t matter that is why they say over the phone that if you do not arrive 30 minutes early they will not see you.
This was not what I was told on the phone, it was suggested I arrive 30 minutes early for checkin and paperwork and since I spent that amount ahead of time I figured there was very little I would need to do in office. I tried one last time but the lady cut me off and said the doctor would not see me (this was still at least 5 minutes before my scheduled appointment time) and that she was “being nice.”
By this time the lady was so rude I no longer wished to be seen by them. All of this occurred and I still walked out and back to my car before my scheduled appointment time. Crazy!
Giving 2 stars only because the lady I spoke with on the phone to make my appointment, Monica, was very nice and helpful and willing to answer all of my questions.
I walked back in after leaving initially as I wanted to confirm they were not going to charge me as a no show even though it still wasn’t my scheduled appointment time (they said they would not)- while waiting I listened to the same medical assistant discuss with the patient in front of me her lab results through the checkin window- what medication she would need to fill, I could give you a rundown on her condition and meds recommendation (seems like HIPAA violation to me!) and I’m sure the other person in the reception area could as well.
Through this experience I felt quite certain this was not the place for me, thank you!

I hate writing bad reviews, but thier lack of professionalism put my health and life at risk. I had gallstones and for over a year Dr. Mikiel talked me into treating it with diet alone. In early May I started having major problems got to the point I couldn't even drink water without having a gallbladder attack, in constant pain and puking EVERYDAY with every meal and sometimes from just pain alone. 6 ER visit in a months time; 4 of them after my visit with her to get the referral. They keep not submitting it and finally half submitting improper paper work, then stopped answering my calls and the calls from the surgeon 's office all together.
