When we first learned of Ammonite Factory in Canmore my wife was very excited. She owns a very old ammonite ring (50 to 60 years old) that was her mothers. I purchased earrings for my wife ($300) and she loved them. Not long after the ammonite delaminated and looked terrible. We took the earrings back and were informed that they were repairable, 6 to 8 weeks, so we left them. It has been almost a year and they still have done nothing! Terrible customer service, actually nonexistent customer service. Very disappointed with this place, will not buy again!
January 2024 - still no word from anyone. Bunch of con artists.

Beautiful collection. The collector has a keen sense of art and humour (see floppy disk).

The person who showed us around was very pleasant but I don't think they acknowledged that I knew some about ammolite. I think they said it was Alberta's precious gem stone 6 times but caught their self on the last one at least.

Very cool gem, and very cool politics and current events with indigenous people and conservation and China mines. I'd love to hear more about that.

This is my Disneyland! The staff is very friendly, patient, and knowledgeable about the Ammonite. They answered all of my ridiculous questions and even let me take some pictures. I only went there to check it out but I fell in love with one of the art pieces. Next day, I traveled back from Calgary and now I'm the proud owner of the most beautiful Ammolite gem. They were also not pushy to make the sale. The gem sold itself to me. It was calling me all night. What a memorable experience!

A true "hidden gem..." stopped in just because we were in the area. Greeted by Lisa and had a terrific personal guided tour of the facilities. Very interesting history including everything from mining to refining to final presentation as either art and/or jewellry. No sale today but, if a future purchase is in the works, buy direct (not at a Hotel) for your best value.

The men there was so helpful it's nice! I chose a pendant, and he was very patient and informative. The pieces they have are absolutely beautiful, and it was definitely hard to choose! I loved when the man said the seeing these pieces, holding them, and taking them out to enjoy them never gets old 🙂

We stopped in here for a tour while visiting Canmore recently and it was great! Alison was very helpful and informative and it was nice getting to see some of the specimens they have on hand. The information presented on the tour was accurate and easily understandable for anyone of any background. A great little place to stop by if you're looking to learn more about one of Alberta's most understated claims to fame. Check it out!

Great place to learn all about Canadian ammonite! Staff is quite knowledgeable and we're able to find us something that looked like what we wanted and was in the budget we wanted too since prices can climb high really fast!

The staff are extremely knowledgeable regarding ammonite. They have many beautiful pieces for sale and are extremely patient( I couldn't decide on which one I wanted).
